Have you ever thought about the importance of tree trimming?

Pruning trees is an important task that must be done regularly and without fail. Not only is tree trimming sydney well for the growth of the tree, but it is also important to trim trees at regular intervals so that they do not cause damage to buildings and overhead power lines. Huge trees often fall during heavy rains, complicating the situation by causing damage to adjacent properties. Therefore, such large trees near residential or industrial properties should be trimmed regularly.

Perfect time for tree trimming.

It is commonly said that tree trimming can be done whenever the saw is sharp. This is true because you don’t need a specific time to prune trees. Dead branches and leaves always need to be pruned so that the rest of the tree can grow smoothly. Even if part of the tree is infected, it must be pruned immediately. The infected part of the tree can spread the damage to other parts of the tree and sometimes to the neighboring trees. Therefore, trees should be inspected regularly for dead parts or insect infestations. If such harmful insects are detected, it is recommended that the damaged portion of the tree be completely removed for the safety of the tree.

You also need to know what type of tree it is – whether it is a flowering tree, shrub, or plant. If it is a flowering tree, you need to be very careful when pruning the tree. Most flowering trees shed their flowers the previous year. Therefore, they will not bloom if the flower buds are cut off the tree. It is always best to prune flowering trees within three weeks of the end of the flowering period. This will prevent you from unintentionally cutting off buds that will bear flowers for the next year. Pruning seasonally can ensure that trees become healthy and yield more the next time they bloom. Pruning trees keeps them healthy and makes them grow stronger.

There are also some trees that cannot be pruned every season.

These are:

Maple – If a maple tree is pruned at certain times of the year, it may “bleed” or drip from the pruning. Bleeding almost certainly occurs when maple trees are pruned in the seasons before and after winter. Research has shown that the “bleeding” does not wound the tree; therefore, it is more of a surface problem. If you want to prune maple trees without causing bleeding, do it when the tree is completely inactive in mid-winter, or in the spring or summer when it is covered with leaves.

Dogwood – Pruning dogwoods in April or May can cause them to become even more infested with the dogwood borer. This insect ruthlessly destroys the tree’s vascular system once it has bored into the dogwood’s trunk.

Oaks – Oaks should not be pruned from April through October, as oak wilt pathogens are common during this time.

The places where trees should be trimmed:

Pruning trees may seem simple at first glance, but you need to know exactly where to cut, otherwise, you can irreparably damage the tree. A layperson unfamiliar with tree pruning can cut branches in a way that leaves open stumps where insects can easily invade.

Unlike humans, trees do not form new tissue. Just as human skin regenerates, trees produce and group new tissue at the cut. If a tree groups a previous cut, it has a better chance of surviving the wound. Care should also be taken to avoid injuring tree trunks with equipment such as lawnmowers, tractors, and other machinery. Such injured logs create openings for malignant fungi.

Trees can be pruned with safer equipment such as a sharp saw and should be pruned in the proper areas where damage is visible or growth has become excessive.

Some trees flower very early and therefore use a lot of water and energy to flower more quickly. In such cases, early flowering can block the growth of the tree and the overall growth of the tree is affected. In such cases, the early flowering can be pruned so that the water and energy are absorbed for the healthy growth of the tree.
